 Imagine this scenario. You are a pub landlord who decides to put on a mini music day/festival. You only want a couple of bands in the afternoon and a disco to fill in the gaps and finish out the evening. Here is the probable pitfalls of putting on this kind of show !

 You have to source and pay top whack for a PA system , then you have to find the bands and try to get them to play for a minimal fee which rarely means you get the quality of band you were hoping for, (All the pro bands need wages too) only to realise you have no stage lighting and have to pay for another crew to lay the light rig in or risk losing the atmosphere because of cold room/outside lighting, or even worse, everyone falling about in the dark, tipsy, cold and lost ! Then you find out that a friend of a friend who was going to play a few cd`s between the bands has gone Yeti spotting in the Himalayas and can`t make it, so you have to find a disco and end up paying top rates for a last minute booking. The entire event has now become expensive and not quite as much fun as you thought it was going to be !
