                                                             Steves News

Steve Spall is a self taught musician who actively set out to "find" everything for himself on guitar and subsequently on multiple instruments and music in all its detailed glory. First picking up a guitar in 1979 Steve has spent his life seeing music as a personal voyage of discovery, prefering a trial and error journey over the usual path of being taught, believing that if you learn from another player, you will ultimately only learn an extension of thier style. This has lead to a unique style and sound as a pro musician.

With this ethos in mind Steves teaching technique is based on the individual as opposed to the accepted teaching methods.

In 1998 Steve decided to venture into the world of teaching and after gaining qualifications as a music facilitator through the excellent "Access to music" system has intergrated his individual style into a successfull  teaching career working in schools, music and drama therapy alongside occupational therapists and even creating the "safe haven" project where troubled youngsters in schools work on musical projects, instrument repair or just relax in a  pressure free environment.
Steve was also a tutor at the Huntingdon College of Music where he taught all ages from children to adult instrument and music classes and  again setting up the "safe haven" project, this time with troubled teenagers and adults.
Other projects include taking absolute beginner pupils and taking them to performance level bands where they could experience the terror and euphoria of a live gig scenario !
Steves pro career includes collaborations, projects, gigs and friendships with many highly influential artists over the years, ranging from international opera singers to a number of No1 selling recording artists and bands. Never limited or blinkered by musical styles Steve has playing, writing and production credits around the world.
