Testimonials and Reviews :-
Poontang. “Kokopelli” Album review.
Track 1: Devil In Texas.
A great start to the album, with a soft intro, it eases you into the musical bliss that is yet to come. There is a great sound of the deep south of America, which is just something I didn’t think I’d really get into or enjoy, but I was proven wrong. This type of music isn’t just for old people!
Track 2: Dixie Kids.
A great follow-up track from Devil in Texas. The energy keeps on flowing. Again, a soft start, before turning into more of a rocky riff. Definitely something that would get you off your arse and onto the floor! The slower bridge, just brings the listeners’ attention to the lead vocals of Bobby Seymore, then straight away, the guitar solo of Steve Spall.
Track 3: Narcissistic Woman.
With a slow and soft instrumental, it's got a beautiful taste of the south-land. The guitar break shared by Bobby Ray on slide Steve Spall, is once again and Steve's solo on second break, priceless. And all this about getting too much unwanted female attention!
Track 4: Marking Time.
With a very lively intro to the song, this one is sure to have you up and rocking 20 seconds into the track.
Track 5: Harp On.
Bit of a different kind of instrumental. When listening to this track, I feel as though I should be dressed up in my cowboy boots and hat, standing at a train station in the middle of Nevada as a train is slowly chugging its way up to, through, and away from the station.
Track 6: Band Of Angels.
This is one of those tracks that you’ve got to tap your foot along to. When you listen to the lyrics of the chorus, “I need a band of angels that won’t abandon me” and “I need a band of angels to surround and comfort me”, it kind of makes you wish you had just that, a band of angels to watch over your every fuck-up.
Track 7: Demons In The Living.
My personal favourite. Just the tempo of the track helps me relax and think about everything I need to. The lyrics, “hold my soul for a day, I will take away the cold” just make it really easy for a lot of people to relate to if they’re feeling a bit down. This song is significant, because it is one of the only slow tracks on this album, and it’s nice to get a contrast between tempos, if only to see whether they can pull it off.
Track 8: Mrs Mitchell.
Now, to hear a song written about a lady with a confectionary stand selling Poontang isn’t something you normally hear about, but rest assured, Poontang isn’t just a euphemism for inappropriate things, it is an actual pastry dish. Yet another up-beat track that’ll keep you moving.
Track 9: Leap Of Faith (re-mix).
From the first 2 seconds, you’re already well aware that this is going to be an amazing track. The lead vocal from Bobby Seymore, couldn’t have fit into this track with anymore ease. Fantastic.
Track 10: A Little Legg Room:
Another instrumental. But a relaxing piece. This track isn’t slow, but nor is it fast. Brilliant guitar work and an excellent ending to the album. – Michael Asman (fan)
